9 Tips to Make DIY Easier




Use a pre-cut pool noodle as in the photo to hold your brushes while they soak. Another good idea to avoid getting it all over the place when painting is to put a rubber band around the paint bucket to allow your brush to drip well.

2-Repair a hole

The screw holes get damaged over time . If you can't make any more holes, use this method: take wood glue to fill the hole, before it dries take a golf tee and push it into the hole. Then cut the part that comes out, and voila! You can put a screw back in the hole.

3-Screw on a branch of the glasses

If a branch of your glasses is loose a bit, you don't need to go to the optician. If you don't have the right tool, flatten the point of a paperclip . Normally you shouldn't have to worry about screwing in the temple screw again.

4-Soften your old brushes


It's not impossible to give a second life to those brushes that have been abandoned without being washed. Soak them in soapy water with lemon juice for a few hours and the hairs will regain their suppleness.

5-Repair an armchair

To repair a slightly damaged chair, no need to spend a fortune . Instead, use placemats. Obviously, choose them in the right color. Before putting it on, you will have to cut the threads that come out with a razor or a scissor as in the photos below.

6-Unscrew a damaged screw

By forcing a screw, you damaged the head and now it does not turn at all? No problem, take a fairly strong elastic, place it on the head of your screw by stretching it. Now try to unscrew it normally . Look at the photos to help you.


7-Screws and nails

All you need to do is moisten a screw with soap and it will go into the wood much more easily without damaging it. Look at other uses of soap by clicking here . To remove nails from a wall without leaving a trace, wedge a sponge between the hammer and the wall.

8-Fill a (small) hole

To fill a hole, which stains in the middle of your white wall, use white toothpaste mixed with crushed chalk. It works better and is more hygienic than putting on a piece of chewing gum. Look at other ways to use toothpaste here .

9-Get rid of rust
