In 1774, a sailor named John Newton was caught in a terrible storm at sea. As he was about to drown, he made a promise to God that if he survived the storm, he would dedicate his life to serving God. Incredibly, Newton managed to cling to a piece of driftwood and swim to a deserted island where he was saved.
Keeping his promise, Newton gave up his life as a sailor and became a preacher. He also wrote several famous hymns, including "Amazing Grace," which is considered one of the most beautiful songs in history. But what is even more amazing is that
